A space race board game of making deliveries and collecting stars!
Dazzling Dash is a tabletop game created in collaboration with Jae Hall-Kues, Colton Curtis, Chi Thanh Tran, and Tom Martin during Intro to Game Design in the Fall of 2025. This project allowed us to experience the full phases of creating and producing a game, starting with an idea and ending with a physical prototype! Our mock studio, Terranova Studios, posed as a group of aspiring game devs across multiple majors that utilizes teamwork to bring our ideas to life.
My contributions to this project included the writing and editing of rules, writing and visual design of the reward system, the 2D visual designs of the player pawns and board tiles, and designs of posters.

Player Pawns
Concept sketches for the pawns players will control on the board. I wanted each player to be able to choose a unique object that is easily distinct while playing. Sketches were done while keeping future production processed in mind, planning to have them 3D printed and painted.
Landmark & Object Board Tiles
The tiles that will be placed at the beginnign of play, introducing randomized elements. We wanted our game to follow a continuous “space” theme with eye-catching visuals, which is what I tried to evoke with these designs. The images are both recognizable and blendable with the main board, the main point of interactivity for players as the locations for deliveries.
Content of the Landmark Tiles includes: The Space Station, The Moon, The Milky Way, The Supernova, The Nebula, The Aliens, and The Constellation.
Content of the Object Tiles includes: space junk, repair parts, a crater, space rocks, stardust, a gem, and an alien.
The designs of the Object tiles reaccurs in the physical Objects on the board, 3D versions of the images.
Main Board
Created by Jae Hall-Kues
On this board, players will follow the path of stars in any direction they choose on their turn. The blank squares mark where the Landmark tiles will be placed, accompanied by Object tiles. Players can travel to Landmarks upon landing on a numbered, purple star of the matching number. The moons in the upper and lower left corners mark the ends of the path.
